At least one of these two prints have been chosen to be displayed at the “DC As I See It” Exhibit at the Leica Store in Washington DC. The gallery opening is March 30th from 7pm-9pm. Stop by if you’re in the DC area! Exhibit runs through April. Can’t wait to see the gallery myself, for sure to have many talented DC photographer’s images on display!

Technical details – Both images created in DC with the Leica M9 using 35mm (people fishing) and 135mm (VH-60 helicopter) lenses. Processed in Adobe Lightroom adding my own custom monochrome preset. Both photographs printed on Epson Exhibition Fiber paper using an Epson Printer.

So ample warning – here’s a photography geek post. I had the chance thanks to the Leica DC Store today to try out the Leica M Monochrom¬† for 2 hours today during their walking tour around DC. This is Leica’s Black n White only digital rangefinder (yes no color). Umm, love! All images with the 90/f2 Summicron with ISO of 1600 to 3200. Yes, Leica users – 3200 iso. I’ve added my own custom Lightroom preset for processing. Pretty amazed at daytime 1600 iso files, sharp, wonderful “grain”.
